Alby (アビー, Abī) is Jr.'s pet dog, an albino chihuahua with violet eyes.
Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Böse[]
He is first seen in the end credits of Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Böse. Jr. obtains Alby soon after his twin brother, Albedo's death, and requests to allow him on the bridge of the Durandal. Although Jr. claims the name is due to the dog being an albino, it is likely that Alby is derived from Albedo, as Jr. tells Mary Godwin, "I hope he doesn't misbehave like someone we know." It is believed Jr. acquired the dog as a means of coping with his brother's death. Alby has white fur and violet eyes, similar to Albedo.
Xenosaga Episode III: Also sprach Zarathustra[]
In Xenosaga Episode III, it is remarked in the database that Alby does not like Gaignun Kukai, but adores Jr., similar to how Albedo feels about his brothers. As Gaignun was already intermittently possessed by Dmitri Yuriev at the time of Alby's adoption, however, this could also imply that Alby is able to sense that something is wrong, as dogs often do.
After the destruction of the Durandal, Alby takes up residence in the women's cabin on the Elsa. Somehow, he is able to use the EVS, and returns to the simulated Durandal, which results in a sidequest where he leads the player around the ship (somehow he can use trains too) until retrieving MOMO's best weapon and an accessory that was hidden in the Durandal Park.
At the end of Episode III, Alby remains with MOMO, Juli Mizrahi, and Ziggy on the Dämmerung, waiting for Jr. to return home.
