The Apostles are the primary disciples of Jesus Christ. During the life of Jesus, the apostles were his closest followers and became the primary teachers of the gospel message of Jesus.

- Some characters in Xenogears and Xenosaga share names with them, such as Andrew Cherenkov, Bartholomew Fatima, and Matthews, but if these are references or coincidences is unconfirmed.
- Two of the Biblical apostles were named James. To distinguish them, they are sometimes called James the Great and James the Less. Jesus gave James the Great and his brother John the epithet Boanerges, meaning "sons of thunder." Since there is a Zohar Emulator named John, it can be deduced by elimination that the Emulator named Boanerges can only correspond to James the Great, and therefore the Emulator named James can only correspond to James the Less.
