Khan Wong, known in the Japanese version as Wong Karn (ウォン・カーン, won kān) is a martial arts master. He is the father of Fei Fong Wong and husband of Karen Wong.
Biography[]
During his time as a lieutenant from Shevat, Khan met a Nisan postulant named Karen.[1] The two married, and a year later, Karen gave birth to Fei in Shevat. After a directive from Zephyr Khan went to the surface, where Karen and Fei soon joined him.[2]
Since his duties to Shevat kept him away from his family for periods of time, Khan was unaware that his wife, due to awakening as an incarnation of Myyah Hawwa, was performing experiments on Fei with the help of Karellen in order to awaken Fei's powers as the Contact.
Fei attempted to tell Khan about Karen's strange behavior, but Khan dismissed it as he was too taken up by his work. This led Fei to create a separate personality to deal with the continual trauma, planting the seeds for Id to later emerge.

Things came to a head in 9985, when Karen summoned Grahf, who wanted to merge with Fei. Khan attempted to stop him and was heavily wounded. Fei, scared by the events and the lack of emotion on Karen's face, lost control of his powers and released a beam of light that arced back towards him. Just before the beam could hit Fei, Karen's original self resurfaced and used her body as a shield, protecting her son from the blast.
Grahf took the Fei with him, trained him to be an assassin for about ten years, always trying to keep one step ahead of Khan, who was tirelessly searching for them.

In 9996, Khan located Grahf again, and battled him in order to take his son back. Instead, Grahf's spirit possessed and merged with Kahn, in order to continue his mission.
While Grahf was largely in control, the fusion process produced a new form, named Wiseman, who was closer to Khan's true personality. Wiseman occasionally surfaced with the save the world instead of end it, interfering with Grahf's actions.[3]
It was Wiseman who would drop off Fei in Lahan Village in the care of Chief Lee. With Id was sealed in deep dormancy in Fei's subconscious and no personality being at the forefront, a third, 'artificial' personality was developed, who had no memory of his life prior to being fifteen years old.

Over the course of Fei's adventure, Khan's will would appear as Wiseman to periodically help and advise Fei periodially.
At the Land of Bethlehem, it is revealed to Fei through Id that Khan is Wiseman, who has been assisting him all this time. After Fei reconciles and merges with Id, Grahf takes control once more and reveals to Fei that Wiseman is not only his father, but that Grahf had been using Khan's body as a host. When Fei and his friends finally defeat Grahf, Grahf sacrifices himself in order to temporarily keep the Zohar at bay. The personas of both Grahf and Wiseman perish when his Gear self-destructs.

Trivia[]
- The official English script inconsistently spells his name as both "Khan" and "Kahn."
- Fei and Khan both wear similar-looking red hair accessories.
- There are similarities between Khan and Dickson from Xenoblade, a game associated with many of the same staff that made Xenogears and Xenosaga. Notably, both are father figures to the main protagonist, with Fei being Khan's biological son, and Shulk being Dickson's adopted son. Both wear red headbands, have similar hair styles, and hold secrets, displaying a certain knowledge into the main protagonists' pasts and abilities.
