The (in)famous cutscene, during which Albedo decapitates himself - AKA the "ma belle peche" scene - has received the strangest type of "censorship" I've ever seen. As this side-by-side video demonstrates, the developers didn't just edit the pre-rendered video for the US release, they instead re-rendered several parts of this cutscene.
Apparently the US publisher was worried about Albedo threatening MOMO and decapitating himself with a weapon (a knife), but who thought that decapitation with his bare hands was any less violent? And they even removed all of the censorship already present in the Japanese original, too...
Right is the Japanese original (with edited subs),
left the English "censored" version.
Audio is from the English version.
