Prelude To Battle (Where Were YOU During The Miltian Conflict??)

Section Briefing
Edit
Ahhhhh... So much better to be on Episode II. When you start your game, make sure you load your Clear Data from Episode I. Based off of your character's levels from Episode I, you will be granted a sum of Skill Points to begin with in Episode II, PLUS you will get Ziggy and KOS-MOS' Swimsuits! You will also get a GERIATRIC SWIMSUIT for the Professor, but it is only of comic value and nothing more.
What in the name of Hell's royal bells is chaos doing here 14 years ago, and at the Miltian Conflict of all places??? I thought he WAS 14 years old. I'm confused... But I am DIGGING these colorful new graphics! Everything seems so much quicker. The mysteries go so much deeper. The music is so much more lively. Electronic, but lively. What will we learn by witnessing some of the events here on Miltia? I caaaan't telllll youuuuu. Rest assured that I will be covering everything you need and want to know. I am BlackAlbedo, and I am a completionist. --BlackAlbedo 08:20, November 15, 2011 (UTC)
Old Miltia (14 Years Ago)
Edit

Added by Soujiro14Enemy A.M.W.S.! Fight it to hear the Mech combat tutorial. Pretty simple, eh? Stock doesn't carry over into other battles, btw. Use
attacks on these dudes. After the tutorial, continue west. Hit the new fancy Episode II trap and fight this guy. Just ahead is another Mech foe standing around like nothing is happening. That's damn suspicious. Lets kill him. Destroy the equipment he was protecting to find a NANO REPAIR A. Continue on the road to the next zone for a cutscene.
After the cutscene, stay on the right side of the road and blow up all of the objects here to find a chest with a REVIVE S. Return to the Save Point, make sure you spend any Skill Points you may have received from loading Episode I Clear Data, check your equipment, and save your game. I recommend getting the Level 1 Class C Skill MEMORY. Everyone will want that first. As a general rule, it is best to buy as many of the red-icon skills, as these are immediately and always active on your character and they provide important resistances and stat bonuses. Try to balance purchasing these with buying the Ethers you will need as well. Go east to learn about character battles. After the tutorial, go east and leave the zone (we can't get that chest yet. I fucking hate when they bait me like this).
Here you will see some green-lighted gates at the top of the road. You can't open them yet, so eat it. Next to those gates, however, blow up the grey panel to find SEGMENT ADDRESS NO. 14, the first Segment Address of Episode II! Sweet! If you remember correctly, we need Decoders for these, so just log it for now. Continuing east, you will see a ladder. Go up it and to the end of this path. Blow up the object to get SKILL UPGRADE D X3. Go back down and head east.

Added by Link768 BOSS: MARGULIS
Edit
DIFFICULTY: EASY
HP: 1000
WEAKNESS: PHYSICAL / ICE / SLASH
BREAK: CB
ITEM: REVIVE DX
RARE ITEM: SKILL UPGRADE E
Ah, Margulis, it's been too long. Lets end this! I forgot to mention there are back attacks in this game. We can create our own back attacks by moving characters on the battlefield during battle around the backside of the enemy. Move chaos behind Margulis right away. You'll notice chaos doesn't turn around yet, which makes him vulnerable until he can attack to turn himself around. Remember this every time you move someone across the battlefield. Keep both character's HP over 150 or so, as Margulis can bite hard when he gets frustrated. Save up at least 2 Stock on both characters and save it for when Margulis is at 500 HP. At this point, Boost the character who is at Margulis' back so that they land on the Boost enhancing Event Slot, then Boost the other character, then use the ICE BRAND Double Attack. This should finish him off. The reason you want to land the finishing blow on the Boost Event Slot is because Margulis won't actually die until he makes a final move, which will end him on the Point Multiplier. You can DO it!
Second Miltia Spaceport
Edit
After the lengthy cutscene, we will be in control of Ziggy at the Dock. We just met some new characters. The Patriarch of U-TIC/Ormus, and Orgulla. We got a glimpse of Pellegri in all her Episode II glory, and our own team is looking great with the graphical changes. Everything about Episode II is just a lot better. It flows more evenly, it keeps the old story true and brings so much more to the table. Enough about this though!
You may use the UMN Terminals to review some information. "Drama Series <Xenosaga Ep. I>" is a detailed review of the entire Episode I story, in case you didn't play that installment or need a refresher. Here's the quick, watered-down version, in the spirit of "LOST In 8:15", just since this page is so short:

Added by KOS-MOS LoverDudes in our time find a Zohar thing. Shion, 4000+ years later, is a scientist. Allen is also a scientist. KOS-MOS is their baby girl. KOS-MOS is not a baby, but in fact, an adult-form female-form Android. The Space Marine ship "Woglinde" that Shion and co. are on gets attacked by Gnosis, which are freaky semi-existing creatures that can hurt us but can't be hurt! D-d-dayum! KOS-MOS to the rescue, however, as she is equipped with technology which can make the Gnosis fully-existing creatures now, so we can fight back! KOS-MOS murders one man out of pure hatred in the name of efficiency. Say "Goodbye", Virgil! ..."Goodbye, Virgil!"

Added by Link768Meanwhile, Ziggy the Cyborg on a mission from some big-wig politicians storms Pleroma, a U-TIC (they're bad guys if you don't subscribe to their "religious" views) base. Ziggy rescues MOMO, a short Realian girl who for some peculiar reason is on the list of people we can use in battle. Mysterious. They meet Margulis, U-TIC officer, expert swordsman, and a real jerk. After getting past him, they streak off in one of their ships.
Meanwhile, The Elsa sees Ziggy and MOMO's ship being attacked, and decide to save them, too. They find out that Ziggy needs to take MOMO to Second Miltia too. Mysterious.
Meanwhile, Jr. is out fighting the U-TIC group. He raids one of their ships then takes off back into space. Mysterious.

Added by QuinsarethMeanwhile, The Elsa gets swallowed by a giant Gnosis which is actually a mix of a Gnosis and what remains of the Planet Ariadne. It's all good though. They get out. Not before murdering Andrew Cherenkov though because he turns into a bad-ass Gnosis. He was just along for the ride after Woglinde, anyway. Jr. shows up with The Durandal to bring us to the next part of the story!

Added by Link768The Durandal docks with the Kukai Foundation, a space station in Miltian Space what looks like a space flower. If it wasn't clear from that last sentece, this is all in space. Soon, the Military deploys a large number of ships to the Kukai Foundation thinking that The Durandal is responsible for what the Gnosis did to the Woglinde and its fleet! They base this assumption on a doctored video that was sent to them. This is the F U T U R E! They should KNOW better than to believe that photo-shopped shit! Shion and co. are under arrest! But wait! The officer in charge is a good spy! She lets Ziggy knock her tha fuuuck out, as well as the other guard in the room. chaos leads the way as the party goes to get their weapons back and find KOS-MOS so that they can use her HIGHLY secure memory logs to prove their innocence.

Added by Link768As Shion attempts to virtually meet with KOS-MOS, a strange effect takes place and everyone is linked with KOS-MOS without any connection gear. Mysterious. The group is successful in retrieving KOS-MOS' data, but not before being forced to relive some of their most painful memories. We learn about Jr. and his ill-fated brothers. We also learn about Shion and her parent's deaths. Also connected to Shion's trauma is a Realian lady named Feb. Oh, and I'm too lazy to mention every time this happens, but Nephilim has been showing herself randomly to Shion throughout the story and is present when Shion first shows up here and with Feb near the end. Nephilim is rumored to be the wandering ghost of Elly from Xenogears, but this theory is bull shit. The resemblances are undeniable, however. Mysterious.
After clearing their names and retaining their squeaky-clean records (KOS-MOS is still a murderer and we all know it) the Foundation is attacked by a SWARM of Gnosis! These space-shits just won't go away! Shion and co. successfully rescue the people of the Foundation from utter destruction, however, MOMO is kidnapped as they leave! OH NOES!

Added by Link768Albedo uses The Song Of Nephilim to activate Proto Merkabah! OH NOES! Now Shion and co. have to storm Proto Merkabah and whoop Albedo's ass AGAIN! They do just that, but have to face off with one final giant Gnosis, Sophie Peithos! Damn you and your trickery, Albedo! Shion and co. win, but Proto Merkabah is heading straight for Second Miltia! They need to break it into a zillion pieces to save the planet. They make KOS-MOS stay behind to operate the console which will do it since they won't have enough time to get away alive if they stay to do it, then they make an escape. KOS-MOS makes it to The Elsa just in time though. No worries.

Added by BlackAlbedoNow The Elsa is hurtling toward Second Miltia uncontrollably! OH SHIT! KOS-MOS uses her super Android powers to get in front of the burning up Elsa and shield it from the effects of the atmosphere. In the process, KOS-MOS transforms slightly, losing her head gear and some other minor details. It is important to note that KOS-MOS acting on her own like this is highly unusual and yet another mysterious mystery. Mysterious. This is almost EXACTLY where Episode II picks up the story, with our team landing on Second Miltia at last.
That's the summary in a nutshell. Forgive me, my more astute readers, if you notice anything I got confused about or neglected to mention that you think should go there. I WAS typing that all from memory alone, plus this is just the abridged version. I mean, you can really read the whole thing at the console in the Second Miltia Spaceport if you want to, just remember to turn the volume down so Second Miltia's music won't drive you insane. You can also find the whole shabang on this wiki by typing Xenosaga Episode I into the search bar and clicking the appropriate links.
Still at the console, "Martial Arts Web Magazine <V>" has some combat tips for you that I suggest you check out if you are feeling slow with the strategy for this game.
Invest Ziggy's Skill Points if you have some, then save the game. Leave out the south-east exit when you are ready to rumble.
